PRESENTATION :
Located on a small headland at Vieux Grand Port, on the lagoon of Mahébourg, villa Paolita is nestled in a big tropical garden with a 180° view of the sea. The property borders the water's edge and has direct access to the sea, but in this part of the island, there are not a lot of beaches and thus there is no beach in front of the property.
The village of Vieux Grand Port plays a significant role in the history of Mauritius. It is a place where the sea meets the mountains. The village is known as the cradle of the island's colonisation - the Dutch having settled in this area in the 17th century with several ruins testifying to it. The village is surrounded by unique natural landscapes, such as the Lion Mountain, as well as endemic flora and fauna, and its huge natural bay. This bay was the site of the historic “Battle of Grand Port” between the French and the British in 1810 (the only naval battle won by Napoleon).
The lagoon of Mahébourg, which stretches from Blue Bay to Ile aux Cerfs, is the biggest lagoon of Mauritius and is famous for its excellent kite surfing conditions. Several small islands are scattered within the turquoise waters of the lagoon, amongst others one of Mauritius' most famous tourist attractions, Ile aux Cerfs. These islands are easily accessible by boat, so step aboard from the neighbouring beach and take a boat trip to explore the lagoon.
A 15-minute car drive takes you into the former historic capital of Mauritius, Mahébourg, where you will find all the necessary shopping facilities, bars, and restaurants.
Fans of the golf sport will enjoy Villa Paolita's proximity to 3 18-hole golf courses: Anahita at 20 min, Ile aux Cerf at 30 min, and Avalon at 30 min.

Le 15 août 2022 : It was an amazing experience. We were able to experience a range of cultural food that was absolutely astonishing. The accommodation was absolutely beautiful with a very spacious setting and a stunning garden with a lovely view if the ocean and other mountains. The service given to us was very helpful.
