Holi is the festival of the spring equinox and fertility, it was celebrated on March 17 in Mauritius.
It celebrates the beginning of spring, commemorating good harvests and the fertile land. Hindus believe it is a time of enjoying spring’s abundant colours and saying farewell to winter. It is considered one of the most exhilarating religious holidays in existence. During this event, participants hold a bonfire, throw coloured powder at each other, thus creating a wonderful living rainbow!
