From cheap to expensive - what are the criteria that define the price of your holiday rental in Mauritius?

Taking a vacation is the best time of year and no one will tell you otherwise. It lowers stress, improves our health, improves our relationships, makes us see things differently… In short, it only does us good. However, in order to take a vacation, you must first plan it. But how to choose the right accommodation? We’ll tell you everything!

First, we have the area your holiday home is located in. Prices vary depending on proximity to amenities, the main road and sometimes even bus stops. It is quite logical that a villa near an urban city is more expensive than a villa in a remote area where there are fewer facilities. But that's not all. If the villa with all the amenities is in an isolated area but it is right on the water’s edge, it will be more expensive than a large villa with a swimming pool without access to the sea. Or, if the villa is an exceptionally luxurious villa (5* plus deluxe villa), regardless of its location, it will be more expensive.

The next element to take into consideration is the size of your holiday accommodation according to your needs and the style of housing. The larger your family, the more rooms they will need and a property with lots of space has a higher rental value than a smaller property. For single travelers, a studio will most probably be sufficient, which will bring the price down. The decor and furnishings in the home can influence the price as well. A contemporary style villa, a Creole villa, an ultra-modern villa with recent appliances, or a villa that has a recently undergone renovation – these are the factors that will influence the rental rate.

The most determining factor is the climate. This defines the low and high season for tourism. Thus, during the winter (low season, from May to September), the most popular tourist sites and all the beautiful beaches are less crowded. The hotels are not full. The restaurants are not crowded... You get the gist! As a result, the price of renting a villa will drop. If you want a great vacation at competitive rates, now is a good time to consider Mauritius as your destination.

To sum it up, you must simply consider your needs and the period of travel before booking your holiday in Mauritius.
